Team Japan will also participate in this edition of Baseball Week, the world's largest invitational baseball tournament. The event, which will be held between June 26 and July 4, 2026, is not unfamiliar territory for the Japanese. The team has already participated in several editions of Baseball Week and promises to entertain tens of thousands of fans in Haarlem with exciting baseball once again.
Japan has won five editions of Baseball Week, including the 2024 edition. The country has also had a team participating in the event since 1978, making Team Japan a real crowd favorite. Tournament director Peter Herkemij is already looking forward to the summer of 2026:
Team Japan is the defending champion of Baseball Week and will do everything in its power to retain that title. The Japanese are coming to Haarlem with a delegation of highly talented players who combine enjoyment of the game, discipline, and tactical insight to form an extremely attractive team. For years, Team Japan has been a real crowd puller at the Pim Mulier Stadium, and 2026 will be no different."
Baseball Week is a biennial baseball event in which six national teams are invited by Baseball Week to participate. The WBSC-accredited event is part of Haarlem's intangible heritage and attracts tens of thousands of fans to the Pim Mulier Stadium every year. Regular ticket sales for Baseball Week Haarlem will start on February 26 via the official Baseball Week channels. Season tickets are already available via this site.
