Guus van Dee is the new president of Baseball Week Haarlem

Guus van Dee has been named president of Baseball Week Haarlem. His first task will be to organize the twenty-ninth edition of Baseball Week, which will take place from July 13 to 22, 2018. Van Dee has a long history in the baseball world, extensive administrative experience, and a very broad network. Back in 1976, then 25-year-old Guus van Dee first became involved in organizing Baseball Week. In the years that followed, the physical education teacher became an increasingly familiar face in the baseball and softball world. Among other roles, he served as president of the Haarlem Softball Weeks from 1995 to 1999 and as a member of the KNBSB’s executive committee from 2003 to 2006. Van Dee: “I am honored by the appointment as chairman and very happy that the Haarlem Baseball Week is being preserved. There is now an enthusiastic team that strives to make Baseball Week what it should be: with a strong field of participants, large crowds in the stands, and fun events surrounding the games. According to the organization, the key to success lies in connecting this wonderful sporting event with businesses and institutions in Haarlem and the surrounding areas so that we can build a solid foundation for years to come. We are very much looking forward to bringing Baseball Week back to Haarlem. Because the two are obviously inseparable.”
