After Wednesday night’s defeat to Japan, the Orange awaits a battle with Team USA for a spot in the final. The final spot is critical for the Kingdom team’s baseball players as it will give them back their A status, which they lost after being eliminated in the semifinals at the 2023 European Championships in the Czech Republic.
That A status provides the players with a basic income from the NOC*NSF, allowing them to focus professionally on their sport, and is thus vital to ensuring the quality of Dutch baseball in the future.
So come all to Pim Mulier Stadium on Thursday to cheer on Evert-Jan ‘t Hoen’s men in this – for several reasons – important match!
