European champion Spain makes Haarlem Baseball Week debut in 2024

HAARLEM, Nov. 16, 2023 – Baseball Week Haarlem has recorded the fifth participant for the 31st edition of the tournament. Following Japan, Team USA, Chinese Taipei and Team Kingdom of the Netherlands, reigning European champion Spain will now come to Haarlem from July 12 to 19, 2024, as part of a strong field of participants.

Tournament director Peter Herkemij is delighted with the capturing of the Southern Europeans. “Spain has shown in recent years to be a formidable opponent in international baseball, resulting in a European title in 2023. So Baseball Week is delighted with their participation.”

Spain will participate in Baseball Week Haarlem for the first time in history in 2024, adding an additional European touch to the event. Fans can look forward to a sporting showdown between Spain and Team Kingdom of the Netherlands. The team of national coach Evert-Jan ‘t Hoen will undoubtedly be eager for revenge after losing the semifinals of the European Championships in the Czech Republic earlier this year.

The organization hopes to announce the sixth and final participating country soon, which will complete the field of participants.
