On Oct. 20, we received the sad news that Willem Hurkmans passed away at the age of 76.
As a volunteer, Willem was invaluable to the baseball and softball community in Haarlem and surrounding areas.
At his own club Terrasvogels in Santpoort and also for the Baseball Week, he devoted decades
with great passion for the sport. Installing a water line, getting the equipment in order or the field
preparing for the next match, Willem did not turn his hand to it. And of course, as always,
On his unmistakable wooden clogs. Baseball Week wishes his wife, children and other family and
friends much strength with this loss.
